What did you think of the ABC /Disney version-The 2-hour versions of "Little House on the Prairie"they did in the 2000's-(I think).Although it's been said these films were more faithful adaptations of the books, they were kind of mean-spirited and not as good as the series.
Re: What did you think of the ABC /Disney version-I enjoyed this version too! I think that the Ingalls are just as good as the NBC cast. It does have more faithful parts from the book in the film. Kylie Chavarra did such a splendid job as Laura. I enjoy it everytime I watch it.

Re: What did you think of the ABC /Disney version-My biggest problem with the Disney version is: No Carrie. Why? The real Carrie Ingalls was born while the family was living in Kansas so some mention of her would have been accurate and appropriate. Carrie was in the pilot movie for the TV series so it stands to reason that she should have been in this version.

Re: What did you think of the ABC /Disney version-The real Carrie wasn't born yet at that time. Michael Landon Wrote her into that part of the story early.
The Disney version is more true to the books. Though I do enjoy it I do like the series better. I agree it did seem a bit mean spirited compared to the series. I like the two-part movie Beyond The Prairie. Did you see that one? A woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself.------Susan B. Anthony

No offense intended here but you should check your facts. Michael Landon and Laura Ingalls Wilder herself wrote Carrie into the story too early. The proof is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrie_Ingalls "Blessed is he who expects nothing for he shall never be disappointed." Benjamin Franklin
Re: What did you think of the ABC /Disney version-She was born a couple weeks before they left Kansas. If they had mentioned her there wouldn't have been much in the Disney version.
Landon made the character a toddler which is not true to life. She was not around for a the time they were in Kansas till the end according to that link A woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself.------Susan B. Anthony
Re: What did you think of the ABC /Disney version-If they went off the books then Carrie should have been in this movie as she is in ALL the Little House books
Re: What did you think of the ABC /Disney version-There's nothing wrong with excluding Carrie from the Disney mini-series. She didn't offer much to me for the book, and I liked seeing more of the relationship between Laura and Mary played out in this adaptation. I grew to enjoy Carrie's character as she grew older, and felt bad for her when Miss Wilder sent her and Laura home because Carrie wasn't rocking the bench that I can recall of. I also think it would've been awesome if they broadened the Disney series to more and had it completely faithful to the books and had Carrie when she was older, because her and Laura grew closer as Carrie got older. Carrie also had some memorable moments in the books, and it would've been cool to see those parts come to life. I would also like to see someone who could play Carrie to a t, because the Greenbush twins didn't do that good of a job to me!
