This really breaks my heart! In 2008, we lost Estelle; 2009 we lost Bea; now in 2010, we lose Rue. Here's hoping that it's MANY years before we lose Betty!

Very sad news. This really breaks my heart. I hope Hallmark Channel will do some type of "in memory" for Rue.

I called Hallmark Channel Corporate, and they connected me to a "higher up" head person in programming. She told me that the last time they did a "in memory" for Bea, they received numerous amounts of complaints with comments such as "she's dead, leave her alone". As a Golden Girls fan, that really breaks my heart. All Hallmark Channel is trying to do is show the viewers that they care about OUR loss. They are having a meeting later to see what they are planning to do...But this *OFFICIALLY* came from a mouth at Hallmark Channel when I called just a half hour ago.
...and some brighter news, (we all pretty much know this) The Golden Girls does VERY WELL in it's current time slots. Of course, that's no shock really. Lots of people love that show.

I couldn't believe it when I heard it. Betty is the last and hopefully she will continue to be in good health. Rest in Peace, Rue. You and the girls continue to make me laugh each and every day when I watch the Golden Girls. Will miss you.

Such sad news =(. I love watching the Golden Girls! I hope they give a tribute to Rue like they did with Bea and Estelle. My prayer goes out to her friends and family.

A sad day indeed,i came home with my wendy's food, sat down at my computer ready to watch the girls while i eat, then google page come up,and what i read hit me like a ton of bricks,i feel as though i lost a member of my own family.
Rue was a incredible actress with warm funny, sexy, vitacity that no one could touch. We welcomed them in our home everyday, the show grows on your heart,as well as the actresses. They do in a way feel like family,so i did shed tears.God bless her soul,it looks like estelle and bea will have great company,i can only imagine the three of those amigos will keep every one in heaven laughing and having a good time, she will be greatly missed here on earth for sure.
God bless her family and all her fans. liz
