I love Emily Dickinsons works.

Nothing Gold Can Stay (1923)

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief.
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
- Robert Frost

I heard all these from my ex when we dated. "the best things in life are free", "money is the root of all evil", "we can live on love", "money can't buy happiness". Even more that I can't remember.
In other words he was cheap. He should have just said "I won't take you out to dinner or movies or buy you any gifts."

Yes it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: 'There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.' You are witnesses to these things. :pray:

~ The word of the Lord; Gospel of Luke 24:46 - 48

No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven...so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.

~ The word of the Lord; Gospel of John 3:13 - 15

Unfortunately there is nothing more inane than an Easter carol. It is a religious perversion of the activity of Spring in our blood. ~Wallace Stevens, 1916

Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in spring-time. ~Martin Luther

I think of the garden after the rain;
And hope to my heart comes singing,
At morn the cherry-blooms will be white,
And the Easter bells be ringing! ~Edna Dean Proctor, "Easter Bells"

Well pleaseth me the sweet time of Easter
That maketh the leaf and the flower come out. ~Bertran de Born
