Discuss the Hallmark Channel Daytime series, like Laura McKenzie's Traveler and Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn.

It's a 5 year deal folks! http://www.cnbc.com/id/39155131"Hallmark's using Stewart to boost the channel's relevance for cable operators to protect its subscription revenue. This deal is really about preserving Hallmark's subscription fees by building Hallmark into a lifestyle channel, helping it better compete with other cable rivals, and now also with broadcast networks. Now that broadcast affiliates are demanding payments from the carriers, cable channels like Hallmark need to up their game to retain their piece of the pie. Also demand payments from cable carriers. This also opens the door for Hallmark to branch out into multiple channels — perhaps creating a dedicated Martha Stewart network down the line." Why would Martha move to Hallmark~$$$$$! "More air time should translate into higher ad revenue, as well as drive more sales of Martha-Stewart branded products, which is where the real margins are. " She needs to see her stuff at Kmart and Sears and all the other stores that sell her overpriced goods.

Shame? Really? I don't get why people are so upset about this. It's a TV channel. And maybe the reason is because Hallmark Channel wanted some NEW programming. I mean, they had a bunch of old re-runs that tons of other channels show. Maybe they took a chance at something new. Imagine if every fall all the networks just aired old re-runs - they'd be out of business. Are you all suggesting you'd be happier if Hallmark went under and bunch of people lost their jobs because you can't watch I Love Lucy? LOL!
Well I, for one, like Martha. She may have a few rough edges, but..shame?

tbs still runs old shows and it doesn't seem to have problems...i think its all bull and martha stewart is just money hungry and in love with herself...shame on hallmark...i'm also not buying these false posts...no one wants to see martha stewart give me a break....its all about money not the viewers or airing wholesome viewing.

False posts, huh? Once again, you are insulting, pach77, but I suppose that's your intention.
What about all of the anti-Martha posters who create alternate screen names in order to flood the forum with negativity.
Give me a break. You aren't fooling anyone.

Come on Folks. It's time to let it go and move on. Hallmark has a contract, Martha is here to stay. Accept it with joy or watch another network.
The good news is INSPIRATION NETWORK is adding some great shows on Oct. 18th. The Waltons, The Wind at our back a show about a family which is set in the same time period as The Waltons and Our House. There may be other shows, that is all I know of right now.
A new network is unfolding in Oct. it is now Discovery Kids but will become The Hub. They will offer, Wonder Years The original Batman from the 1960's Doogie Howser, M.D. Happy Days Family Ties Laverne & Shirley
Coming here and continuing to yell and scream even in typing is a waste of time. We should count our blessings that other networks are listening and we have other options. Just cancel Hallmark or change the channel. It's not worth all this. Ratings speak louder than words on a message board.

of course it is a about the $$$$$$. Martha has it so she gets what she wants. Hallmark was my favorite because in reality things have changed so much, but you could watch Matlock I love lucy, Goldengirls and escape for a while, wind down at the end of the day. I dont want to watch Martha the over priced queen of it all. I live in the south bronx where martha is not affordable. Marthas name doesnt mean anything to us. she is just another rich person who got caught stealing and got slapped on the wrist if you want to give her time on tv give her 6am to 7 am. As much money as i pay for cable tv $170. a month i should be able to choose what comes on and when. everything now is reality shows ,killing in 3d and cursing. I thought tv land would be the one that would let you escape and that failed then i thought i had Hallmark and it is all martha maybe if we stop buying cable and just watch free tv they will realize that with out us paying customers they would not be making money

A few rough edges? Maybe she got those in prision due to that whole insider trading thing? And if you read these posts, most folks don't care about Hallmarks new direction, it's who they have chosen to take that direction. Martha? Why?

A couple of the folks I have spoken to in the viewer services department at Hallmark Channel have expressed support for the Hallmark Channel Home programming. Like it or not, these are the individuals in charge. It is amazing how little respect Americans have for individuals who are in positions of authority. Do you honestly think the decision to try original programming on Hallmark Channel was something that was designed to make people's lives miserable? The Hallmark Channel staff members are innovative, not stupid. Based upon the conversations I've had, they really wanted to boost Hallmark Channel's profile in the cable television market -- something that would ultimately benefit the fledgling network. It's really sad that a small minority claims to represent the majority of the channel's total viewership.

It's done and I no longer care but I do care about people who want a certain type of programming which is why I posted networks offering those shows. Many networks have turned away from wholesome, family programming but thank God others have heard our voices. I no longer care that Martha is on Hallmark. I don't wish anything on Hallmark or it's employees but Hallmark is going downhill instead of up. There will Never be enough people willing to watch the new shows.
The good news is INSPIRATION NETWORK is adding some great shows on Oct. 18th. The Waltons and A brand new Walton's Reunion, The Wind at our back a show about a family which is set in the same time period as The Waltons and Our House.
World Harvest Television on Direct TV offers The Patty Duke Show, Daniel Boone, Lone Ranger and other shows.
