The Martha Stewart Show is coming to Hallmark Channel on September 13!

"They may have lost some of their old viewers (which is a shame for any network), but they have also gained new viewers and ad dollars bring in a higher revenue with new programming like Martha than older repeats. Just the facts."
Sorry but those "facts" you just stated were created out of thin air. What IS fact is this: Hallmark admitted they were overly ambitious and pulled back Martha programming by 3 hours. If they had gained so many viewers, they would not have done that. THAT is a fact. Very rational. Higher revenues are brought in thru ad dollars when ratings INCREASE...NOT when ratings dive 50% during the same time period year over year. THAT is a fact. If you bother to do a little research, such as going to tvbythenumbers and looking at ACTUAL ratings, you'd see that before Hallmark started running Xmas and Thanksgiving movies, their daytime average viewers were UNDER 500,000. See any of the stats from Oct or Sept. AFTER the movies started, viewership increased, for example for yesterday, to 800,000. Not only that, but here's what tvbythenumbers said about Thanksgiving week: "HALLMARK CHANNEL’S RECORD BREAKING THANKSGIVING DELIVERS 4 OF THE TOP 10 RATED MOVIES ON AD SUPPORTED CABLE Hallmark Channel Ratings Record: More than 25 Million Tune to Network Thanksgiving Week 2010" You can thank the movies for that.
There are some facts for you. Not created out of opinion or out of thin air just because I want it to be that way.

If Hallmark was so happy with their old viewership while airing nothing but repeats, they would have kept it that way. They didn't. Just the facts

Yes it's a fact that Hallmark wanted a change . But Hallmark has pick the wrong shows . When i think of Hallmark i think Family programming . Not Martha Stewart. I am sick of the golden girls to. Hallmark need to change all there programs. Time to mix it up some . Time to stop the never ending hours of the same shows. That goes for Little House . Hallmark all i want for Christmas is some new programs!!! THAT A FACT!!!!
Rest in peace Sherlock we will miss you !!!!!

I agree I hate Martha Stewart and those other dumb cooking shows and Whatever. Pure Trash! Martha Stewart should be on prison TV only. I don't like ex-cons monopolizing this channel for over 4 hours a day! Bring back I Love Lucy during the daytime when people are not sleeping! Also bring back Who's the Boss. What about airing some other classics such as That Girl, The Patty Duke Show, Love American Style, F-Troop, My Little Margie, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Farmers Daughter, Timmy and Lassie or so many other classic TV Shows. This is what people want to see and remember when Hallmark Channel used to be good. You should just rename the station the Martha Stewart channel as you have that old windbag ex-con on over 4 hours a day!

I have really been enjoying The Martha Stewart Show on the Hallmark Channel. I especially love the fantastic baking and cooking segments. (And love, love her new Martha Bakes show). Her shows are not only educational (highly instructive) but also she has been a delight to watch, too. I think it is easy to take for granted a host's ability to balance pleasing qualities - voice (tonal quality, volume, etc.), comportment, and elegance along with maturity, experience, and ability to strike just the right feel. For example, while some other shows (with hosts) are helpful/informative, the hosts themselves become grating after awhile - I think in part due to their egos/personalities (a bit too clever or droll, overly precious/flirtatious, repetitive in reference to their own children, etc.) However, every time I watch Martha, I marvel at how she manages to place the emphasis on the subject matter while also inject some fascinating tidbits about her life/her experiences (without reaching a bragging level) and all the while keep the segment moving along and in good order. I also think the production value on this show is pleasing - from the set design, to the theme song, to its flow and pacing. Kudos to Martha, the shows' producers, and the production teams.
Looking forward to watching more Martha!

Finally! I knew this would eventually happen! Most of us knew this wasn't a good fit for Hallmark right from the get-go. So glad Hallmark came to this decision and now I'm seriously looking forward to what Hallmark will do next with the morning and afternoon schedule.

I wouldn't be so quick to rejoice over the cancellation of the Martha Stewart Show. This is bad news for everyone who watches the Hallmark Channel, not just those of us who watch Martha.
Hallmark Channel was floundering and just about ready to go under when it contracted with Martha Stewart to air her programs and the other shows in the daytime line-up. It was a last ditch effort by Hallmark to bring a new audience and more advertisers on board because the classic television shows and made-for-tv-movies weren't enough to keep the station afloat. Sadly, it appears that Martha Stewart wasn't enough to do this for them either.
So what happens now? Does Hallmark go back to airing the same programs that weren't successful before? How long, then, until it decides that enough is enough? I can only believe that Hallmark Channel will soon follow Martha into cancellation.
Maybe you should have been wishing that the Martha show had been a ratings success, instead of hoping for it to be canceled. Her shows only took up 1/7 of the total programming slots, leaving many hours for all the classic shows to air. A successful Martha Stewart program would have gone a long way to keeping your shows alive too.

Here is what MSLO's President Lisa Gersh wrote to employees after inaccurate reports surfaced in the media last week:
MSLO has never had a more vibrant, more diversified umbrella of strong, popular brands and loyal, enthusiastic audiences across TV, digital, print and radio, as well as across numerous product lines available through top retail partners.
The Martha Stewart brand has been a successful TV presence for nearly two decades and we expect that to continue. The daytime block on Hallmark demonstrated year-over-year ratings growth and 'The Martha Stewart Show' earned two Emmys in its first season. The show will continue on Hallmark through the end of this season and we are currently exploring programming concepts for Martha Stewart and other MSLO brands beyond this fall.
In other words, look for new programming concepts to come from Martha Stewart on Hallmark Channel.

That's funny, it's sure not what I read in the newspaper about her ratings, SOMEBODY'S NOT TELLING THE TRUTH.

I heard Martha mention today that she was coming back again this fall. Was very happy to hear that. She is a very classy lady and I enjoy watching her show.

She doesn't belong on this channel, put her on a cooking or craft channel, not with older shows/movies, etc.
