Thanks for reminding people to update their pet's tags before vacationing and/or moving. You also talked about pet birds typically having a metal tag and the importance of knowing the number so you can identify your pet if they are lost. Please let your viewers know that it's a good idea to have a photography of you and your pet as further proof that the pet belongs to you.
I have taken several first aid and rescue courses recently and the instructors stressed the importance of being able to confirm ownership to any rescuer or authority. They all stated that the best proof is a current photo of you and your pet. I've heard many accounts of people separated from their pets during Hurricane Katrina and only being reunited because they had a photo since they had lost all their pet's papers during the evacuation.
