Laugh along with Frasier, Niles, Daphne, Martin, Roz, and of course, Eddie the dog.

Okay, I hate to do this, but I'm gonna come out and ask: Is anyone else here creeped out by the St. Judes commercial that's been playing during late-night repeats of Frasier and Cheers lately? The one that has no speaking -- just a creepy woman "moaning" in the background.
I love St. Judes and have supported them financially. I've also appreciated other commercials they've produced and the effort they make to advance cancer research. But this commercial is so creepy, it wakes me out of a dead sleep and leaves me clambering to change the channel.
I love Frasier, but I've stopped watching late nights entirely just to avoid the commercial.
I wish I could find a clip of it online, but it doesn't look posted anywhere yet. Has anyone else seen it?

Oh my gosh! You have perfectly summed up how I feel about that commercial! I'm like you, I hate to complain about helping critically ill children, but this commercial is just poorly placed in a comedy line up. Hopefully, someone at Hallmark will see how inappropriate this is.

At least I know I'm not the only one. Looks like there's several posts from folks with similar sentiments online too.

I thought I was the only one! I'm not sure if it's the placement; it's the music, or whatever the hell that is! The hymn in the beginning has purposefully clashing cords, and it makes you change the channel. I hope that's not reaction they were looking for. I didn't even know it was St. Jude's because I change the channel so quickly. I come out of deep sleep just scared to death! I love Frasier and I leave the TV on sometimes at night but now I just put on football or something. If I had any thought of donating, it went out the window with that creepy a** commercial.

I agree with you, amytoo. I've supported St. Judes financially in the past, but find this particular commercial to be exploitative and manipulative... very similar to the commercials featuring Sarah McLachlan and 2 minutes of abused animals by the ASPCA (another organization I've supported in the past.)
I've seen fantastic commercials by St. Judes in the past. Both heart-warming and heart-wrenching. But this one is downright creepy and crosses the line, in my opinion.
I've stopped watching Hallmark during late nights entirely due to this commercial.

Okay...so I woke up every night TERRIFIED when this came on but always fell asleep after Golden Girls. I tried to explain this to my husband and he thought I was nuts. so now as soon as Golden Girls ends I change the channel so I don't wake up creeped out. I did some searching online and found that the song is called Lullaby by Pink Martini...I found it on You Tube and listened and yup...it's not just weird and creepy when you get woken in fright - its creepy in the day too. Give it a listen...if you dare. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7oCbXCnv3g

I feel SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER! I am just a "scary"-type person all the way around anyway-the slightest thing will send me into paranoia! However, I MUST AGREE WITH ALL OF YOU! I'm not a Cheers nor Frasier fan, but I am a bonafide Golden Girls fan! So usually, I'm already asleep or will just turn my TV's volume down and move on to something else. I too, am creepily awaken by this morbid-sounding commercial! And I had no idea the d**n thing was a full 2 minutes long until someone else said something about it! It will wake me out of my sleep to the point where like others on here have said, I will be clammering for the remote just so I can change the channel! It puts me in the mind of you being stuck in a funeral home or morgue, and the d**n dead bodies are rising and humming or something! I know it's an extreme thought for some of you, but this is ridiculous! And then the moaning and wailing is so bad, that the children that are on the commercial, you'd think they have already died because of the manner of this whole entire creeped-out spectacle. Whew! I feel a lot better knowing that I'm not alone in the sense of creepiness when it comes to this commercial! Furthermore, I sure as hell can't imagine why anyone would want to have this played at THEIR own funeral!! P.S.: And could someone PLEASE tell me why they only play it through the night? If it was played in the daytime, it'll still sound creepy, but maybe not as much!

I thought I was the only one. I used to fall asleep to Hallmark but I can't afford to do that anymore. Why? Cause like all of you, this commercial creeps the you know what out of me. Maybe Hallmark should listen to all of us since they don't have our viewership this time of night. I think St. Judes is a wonderful charity but this commericial is literally turning people off. I wonder how other sponsors would feel if they knew St. Jude was keeping viewers away in droves. Like someone else said, the song by itself is not scary but pair it with these horrid images makes me a disappearing viewer. Next to Tubular Bells from the Exorcist, this commercial makes me want to put the lights on and count the hours till daylight. Get rid of this commericial![/color]

I'm so glad this was brought up as eloquently as it was because I wouldn't know how or where to start with a topic such as this. The Hallmark Channel is notoriously louder than most other channels and even louder during the commercials and like every one posting here, I do find this particular commercial "creepy". It some how always wakes me when asleep and I'm not the only one in my household too. My fiance immediately reaches for the remote to either mute it or change the channel. Wouldn't it make more sense to air commercials like this during the day when there are more viewers watching? A powerful and important organization such as St. Judes deserves something better than a 2 am time slot.

Lol! Your not alone, the song is very creepy. I thought about writing Hallmark regarding it months ago but never got an opportunity. When Fraiser returns, I can only hope that St. Hides has a different commercial.

I just got on board with the Hallmark Channel posts.... Was reading about that hideous commercial for St. Judes! OMG there are others who felt the same way. It was god awful! It would wake me from a sound sleep and I would immediately turn the channel and wouldn't come back until I was sure it was over. I dont' watch Hallmark late like I used to since they have removed Frasier and Golden Girls. So I don't know if it still airs but seriously.... it needs to go away forever. Just irritating. Who in their right mind would produce such trash....I think it cost them donations rather than encouraged people to give.
