Another installment in "The Good Witch" series is coming! In "The Good Witch's Family," Cassie Nightingale and her family receive a visit from Abigail, a mysterious young woman who claims to be Cassie’s cousin after discovering her name on a family tree website. Stars Catherine Bell, Chris Potter and Sarah Power.

I was very disappointed in this movie. The last two have been patently insipid without a shred of credibility in the story.

I agree with the above posts.
I loved the very first movie. It was very mysterious and coy. It certainly hinted that Cassie was a witch, but it wasn't obvious. For example, when she gently touched Jake's hand as he opened the gate or made the harvest moon cookies and holding Isis. I think Grey House and her shop were reflections of who Cassie was and like someone said above, actual characters in the movie.
As the movies progressed, the writing seemed to go downhill. It was like they weren't taking the time that they did on the first one. There were less and less subtleties and nothing was left to the imagination.
By the time the third movie came along, doors were blowing open and Derek said something to the effect of "What do you give a woman who can conjure up anything". It was so implausible. All of a sudden this straight laced cop believed in witches. The best part of the whole movie was at the end when Cassie seemed to make it snow.
The last movie was pretty much on par with the others except maybe a bit worse. It was much more tense and negative. Not at all fun and magickal. Her room in the house was the all time worst part of the movie. It was so overdone. I think it was supposed to reflect that Cassie was compartmentalizing her magickal side- sort of boxing it up and relegating it to a room upstairs. The rest of the house looked sterile as did her shop.
Interestingly, this is almost a total takeoff of Bell Book and Candle. As Kim Novak fell in love with Jimmy Stewart, her shop and dress changed. In the beginning, it was dark and mysterious. At the end, her shop was all bright and had seashells and she was in this bright dress. She had ceased being a witch and became normal. If I remember correctly, even Pyawacket the cat ran off.
In any case, I hope someone from Hallmark reads these. Somebody needs to put some time in writing the next one. Cassie definitely should not be mayor. The magick should be subtle and leave room to question exactly what happened.

I won't even get to know if I like the movie or not. I didn't see it due to a power outage when it originally aired AND they're showing a Good Witch Marathon on Friday, but - get this - they're showing the first three movies and they're NOT showing The Good Witch's Family (the one millions haven't yet seen).

I loved the 4th installment of The Good Witch's Family!! I have all the movies ( on my DVR). I read that a 5th installment is going into production some time in 2012!! Hope so, these movies are GREAT!! Now, all I need is a site to BUY some of those fantastic clothes Cassie wears!! Lavender is one of my favorite colors & burgandy. The beautiful lavender hooded cape that Catherine Bell wore for the 3rd movie "The Good Witch's Gift" ( or wedding) was stunning!! The lavender used in the 4th movie is just awesome & subtle, like the sweet 16 cake, icing is lavender, cute!! I could say so much more but, do not want to make spoilers here. Hallmark or Catherine Bell, if you reading let some us know where the clothes can be bought, wedding dress, sweaters, cape etc.?????? Last, please keep all the great actors/actresses for all movies in the future of "The Good Witch" series!!!! Thanks for reading

I agree with some of the other posters here, I love these movies but please the writing needs to improve. The first one was so fun and magical, it was coy and mysterious about Cassie's "powers". Was she a witch, or was she just a compassionate woman with a gift for understanding people and sizing up situations. Her ability to see the best in people and make people want to *be* their best worked its charm on the town. I've enjoyed the other movies too, but not nearly as much. Please, please, please write some actual diolauge for Cassy - not just her having a canned cliche response ready for every thing anybody says. Also, the idea that she has to fix *everything* and every problem is just silly. I love the characters and the original story line/idea, in the future please spend more time on the writing.
