The Martha Stewart Show is coming to Hallmark Channel on September 13!
I can't wait ether!! I just hope it not all sitcom !! Some are all right but not a overkill of them. Hallmark dose not need to be like TV Land and bore the hell out of us with sit com. How about Third watch or maybe Barney Miller .
Rest in peace Sherlock we will miss you !!!!!
Perhaps the Hallmark Channel could just vanish. The Martha Stewart shows breathed new life into a stale network full of reruns of The Golden Girls, The Waltons, etc. Hallmark offers very little original programming other than their Saturday night specials which are constantly review poorly by the media. It's interesting to note that even the big three channels air shows about creativity, quality of life, innovation. Why would anyone want to spend a day watching old television reruns over and over?
Here is what MSLO's President Lisa Gersh wrote to employees after inaccurate reports surfaced in the media last week:
"MSLO has never had a more vibrant, more diversified umbrella of strong, popular brands and loyal, enthusiastic audiences across TV, digital, print and radio, as well as across numerous product lines available through top retail partners.
The Martha Stewart brand has been a successful TV presence for nearly two decades and we expect that to continue. The daytime block on Hallmark demonstrated year-over-year ratings growth and 'The Martha Stewart Show' earned two Emmys in its first season. The show will continue on Hallmark through the end of this season and we are currently exploring programming concepts for Martha Stewart and other MSLO brands beyond this fall."
In other words, look for new programming concepts to come from Martha Stewart on Hallmark Channel.
This just goes to show, once again, how Hallmark DOES NOT listen to its viewership. As a longtime fan of Hallmark's movies and wholesome family programming (reruns like Little House and some vintage sitcoms) I was SO disappointed when they started running Martha Stewart/cooking shows ALL DAY LONG. I don't dislike Martha, and I do like her instructional cooking/craft show...HOWEVER, I am not interested in her running over and over again in daytime.
A little over a year ago, Hallmark's site was bogged down with people complaining about Hallmark's choice to A) bring Martha to Hallmark and B) bombarding us with her eight hours a day. Had they listened to us in the first place, I think they would have saved themselves a lot of trouble. Hallmark is notorious for not responding to its fans, and Martha is just another example. I DO feel Hallmark has gotten better (bringing back Little House, Waltons, and Lucy..and I am also loving Frasier.) But, I feel sorry for Hallmark that they can't seem to grasp the concept of "less is more"...instead of showing ten of one type of show in a row, they should mix it up, and air a little bit of everything. As far as Martha Stewart is concerned, there CAN be too much of..."a good thing." Airing her "Living" show once a day at, say, 10 AM would have sufficed...but, sadly, by going overboard with Ms. Stewart's programming, they basically made people not want to watch it at all.

Good post natasha. I couldn't agree with you more.
It looks like some post may have been deleted from here, which is no big deal, but I didn't hear anything more about Martha's show being cancelled.
No biggie to me because there's plenty of other things to watch on TV.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot little puppies.
I still haven't heard or read anywhere about cancellation of this show. Than again, I didn't really go out of my way looking for information...LOL!
All I know is someone is really out to get me. I entered a sweepstakes some time ago and from this I won a free one year subscription to Martha Stewart Living Magazine!
I kid you not! LOL!
Other than using this as bathroom reading material I was thinking of some ways to recycle this rubbish. Here's some things I came up with:
Toilet paper ( I don't recommend this because it's rough on the edges and not flushable )
Lining the bottom of the birdcage
Open it up and lay it flat to put my muddy, wet boots on
I Hate Martha collage
Well, that's all I have for now but I'd like to read some other creative ideas from you fine folks. I tried giving them away but nobody wants them and someone suggested to burn them! I can't do that.
Well, Sorry to break this to you but these "morons and idiots" have spoken and Hallmark listened!
Read on and weep...
"The domestic diva and talk show host announced her new TV show on Thursday. The weekly, 30-minute program titled "Martha Stewart's Cooking School," will air this fall on PBS.
Stewart currently hosts a daily talk show for the Hallmark Channel, which is in its last season. In January, Hallmark formally canceled Stewart's show and said that the program would cease production in April 2012.
It was reported that Hallmark pulled the plug on Stewart's show due to its high production cost and disappointingly low ratings."
Stewart tweeted about her excitement for her new show. She wrote, "The response to our announcement for a PBS cooking school series is wonderful. Easy access to PBS as opposed to Hallmark will be wonderful."
The viewers of Hallmark have stated their dislike to this show since day one and clearly the ratings reflect the outrage. Martha Stewart will no longer continue to butcher Hallmark and now it's YOUR problem.
BTW, calling people names for expressing their dislike for a program is rude.
